A fantastic pair of estate Roman coin earrings made in Italy! Crafted in 18k yellow gold, each earring features a simple polished gold bezel frame which has an ancient Roman bronze coin set in the center and a small bezel set diamond resting in the frame below it. Each coin, which were minted during the reign of Roman emperors Constantine the Great and his son, Constantine II, shows a detailed depiction of the emperor's profile, complete with hair, facial features, and a laurel crown. Inscribed on the back of each frame is the name and reign of each emperor. The earrings hang from a gold post with a hinged backing. On the inside edge of each backing's hinge is a series of hallmarks, reading "ITALY", 18k, 750, and a maker's number reading 319AL. A wonderful set with a beautiful and unique look, these marvelous earrings would make a fantastic addition to any collection!

Measurements: The earrings measure 3/4" in diameter and just over 1/4" thick.

Condition:  The overall condition of the earrings is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the gold frames or ancient coins. The diamonds are intact and securely set.
